Erin Marie Miller is a freelance journalist, writer and photographer based in Metro Detroit.

With nearly a decade of experience working for magazines and newspapers in various roles, Erin’s writing and photography have been commissioned by national, regional and local publications since 2014.

Her reporting has been published by HOUR Detroit, Metro Times, Model D, Second Wave Michigan, Metromode, Lifewire, Fashionista, Birmingham Magazine, SEEN Magazine and others. In 2021, she received an Excellence in Journalism Award from the Society of Professional Journalists' Detroit chapter for her coverage of the economic impact of pandemic restrictions on minority-owned small businesses in Detroit.

Erin is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in political science. Before returning to the Detroit area in late 2019, she spent half a decade living and working in Los Angeles, where she photographed lifestyle work for an array of magazines and brands and contributed reported features to magazines and newspapers.

When she isn’t writing or taking photographs, you can find her browsing bookstores and record shops, checking out art exhibits at local galleries and museums, playing chess, or curled up at home with a cup of coffee and a good book.
